Job Description
Purpose:
The AM – Legal independently manages legal aspects of commercial contracts including vendor agreements; franchise agreements etc, reviews, and negotiates commercial agreements. To manage legal notices, litigation, Company's IP and maintain respective MIS. The role will oversee Legal work for all brands.
Role and responsibilities:
- Commercial Contract Drafting & Review: Draft, review, and vet commercial agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, NDAs, franchise agreements, IT/Technology related agreements and employment contracts.
- Coordinating with support teams, as well as internal for addressing Contract related queries and resolving issues
- Taking note of legal notice/correspondence received by the company and coordinating with the respective stakeholders for further course of actions and draft reply/ notices as the case may be, and other activities as may be assigned.
- Conduct legal research on commercial laws and regulations; advise business teams on legal implications of contracts and transactions.
- Negotiate commercial terms with vendors and partners; identify legal risks and propose risk-mitigating clauses; coordinate commercial sign-offs.
- Maintain contract lifecycle tracking and ensure proper filing and organization of all legal documents
- Coordinate with IP counsel for finalizing and filing new Trade Mark (TM) applications, opposition application, renewals of TMs; Review trademark search reports; finalize replies to preliminary objections raised in examination reports; Maintain updated records of all trademarks.
- Litigation Support and Co-ordinating with external Advocates for taking appropriate steps for filing new cases, pleadings, replies/WS. Maintaining records of the on-going litigation.
- To provide Legal Advisory/ Opinions to the key stakeholders connected to the business/stakeholders, etc.
- Support cross-functional team in developing/reviewing/updating internal policies aligned with statutory obligations and best practices.
Experience and Qualification:
Essential:
- LLB with 5-8 yrs. of experience is required in the fields of retail/ hospitality industries, with a strong background in.
- Expertise in drafting contracts, knowledge in Corporate laws including Intellectual Property laws
- Remarkable command over English language
- Excellent communication skill both written and oral to be able to communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel (2-3 times a week/Bi-monthly) to Gurgaon
Compensation offered: INR 12LPA - 16LPA
