Role Overview:

Position: Business Development Manager — Capital Markets

Location: Thane, Mumbai (Full-time)

Department: Business Development

The Business Development Manager is responsible for owning the Capital Markets industry vertical and achieving annual revenue growth through strategic account acquisition, relationship development, industry participation, and opportunity management. In this role, you will act as the Voice of the Industry within Technosprout, continuously tracking capital market evolution, stringent regulatory updates, and modern FinTech/Algo-trading technology adoption patterns. You will be the core driver who builds the pipeline, closes the deals, and deeply understands what is happening in institutional trading, wealth management, and market infrastructure security.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Pipeline Generation & Prospecting

  • Account Mapping: Maintain an active network of target capital market institutions across India (Mutual Funds/AMCs, retail brokerages, investment banks, and clearing corporations). Prospect key decision-makers (CXOs, CISOs, CIOs, and Compliance Officers) to drive hyper-personalised security conversations.
  • Lead Generation: Execute targeted outbound outreach, host niche networking events, and leverage our elite partner ecosystem to secure high-value discovery meetings.
  • Discovery & Qualification: Conduct deep discovery sessions to understand client technical vulnerabilities—such as algorithmic trading access controls, secure cloud data pipelines, or third-party vendor risks—before positioning solutions.

2. Revenue Generation & Account Management

  • Deal Ownership: Manage opportunities through the entire sales lifecycle—including coordinating technical architecture teams, preparing complex proposals, building business cases around risk reduction, and closing high-value contracts.
  • Account Expansion: Maintain tight post-sale engagement via regular reviews, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities (e.g., expanding privileged access management into cloud infrastructure), and securing renewals to maintain a customer retention rate north of 90%.

3. Industry Participation & Brand Building

  • Networking & Ecosystem Engagement: Attend prominent capital market technology forums, BFSI events, and fintech summits to build deep relationships with regulators, market infrastructure experts, and technology consultants.
  • Thought Leadership: Participate actively in financial technology circles, share emerging cybersecurity trends regarding institutional trading, and collaborate with marketing teams to publish market-specific insights.

4. Market Intelligence & Knowledge Management

  • Internal Advisory: Act as the internal subject matter expert for the Capital Markets sector. Track SEBI circulars, cybersecurity and cyber resilience frameworks for market intermediaries, and cloud adoption mandates to keep internal teams ahead of the curve.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Deliver regular internal knowledge sessions, compile market use cases, and contribute to quarterly fintech/capital markets security reports.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical & Functional Knowledge

  • Industry & Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of the capital markets ecosystem (front-to-back office workflows, depository systems, high-frequency trading platforms) and key SEBI guidelines regarding cybersecurity and data handling.
  • Technology Frameworks: Working familiarity with Cybersecurity, Identity & Access Management (IAM/PAM for traders and admins), Cloud Security risks, API security, and Data Privacy regulations.
  • Commercial Acumen: Competence in building financial business cases, calculating the cost of operational risk/downtime, and defending value-based ROI arguments to CXOs.

Core Sales Skills:

  • Consultative Selling: Proven ability in navigating longer-cycle, highly scrutinized value-based enterprise B2B sales rather than transactional software selling.
  • Executive Communication: Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and negotiation skills, with the confidence to comfortably engage, pitch to, and advise CXO-level financial stakeholders.
  • Accountability & Drive: High ownership mindset with a disciplined approach to pipeline management and prospecting, even during challenging market stretches.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5 to 8 years of proven experience in B2B enterprise technology sales, business development, or technology consulting.
  • Industry Exposure: Minimum 3+ years of direct experience selling to or working closely with Capital Market entities, Asset Management Companies (AMCs), Broking houses, or Fintechs (familiarity with market workflows and trading terminology is mandatory).
  • Track Record: A demonstrable history of meeting software/service revenue quotas, adding new corporate logos, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder deal cycles.
