About Position:

The Google SecOps Engineer role is responsible for the end-to-end implementation and management of the Google Security Operations platform, including SIEM and SOAR capabilities. The individual will focus on strengthening security operations by building robust threat detection mechanisms, automating incident response, and supporting proactive threat hunting and forensic investigations.

What You'll Do:

• Design and implement scalable log ingestion pipelines for diverse data sources.
• Develop custom parsers to ensure high-quality telemetry and effective log normalization.
• Develop, test, and tune sophisticated detection rules using YARA-L to identify emerging threats.
• Build and automate complex incident response playbooks within SOAR to reduce mean time to respond (MTTR).
• Perform proactive threat hunting using Google Threat Intelligence.
• Conduct forensic investigations and support security incident response activities.
• Integrate third-party tools through APIs and security automation workflows.
• Collaborate with security teams to improve detection coverage, response effectiveness, and cyber resilience.

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Deep expertise in Google SecOps, including the unified SIEM and SOAR platform formerly known as Chronicle.
• Proficiency in writing YARA-L rules and strong understanding of the Unified Data Model (UDM) for log normalization.
• Hands-on experience with security automation, orchestration, and third-party tool integration through APIs.
• Strong knowledge of threat detection engineering, incident response automation, and SOC operations.
• Experience in proactive threat hunting, forensic investigations, and use of threat intelligence.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional security teams and communicate findings clearly.
• Google Cloud Professional Security Engineer certification is preferred.
