yThe MYP Coordinator provides academic and instructional leadership for the successful implementation, development, and continuous enhancement of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). The Coordinator ensures that the programme aligns with the IB Mission, Programme Standards and Practices, and the school's educational vision while fostering inquiry, interdisciplinary learning, student agency, and international-mindedness
.Key Responsibilitie
s1. Programme Leadershi
- pLead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the IB Middle Years Programme
- .Ensure compliance with the IB Programme Standards and Practices
- .Promote inquiry-based, concept-driven, and interdisciplinary learning across all subject groups
- .Lead curriculum review and continuous programme improvement initiatives
- .Foster a collaborative culture focused on innovation and academic excellence
.2. Curriculum Developmen
- tGuide teachers in unit planning, curriculum mapping, assessment design, and reflective practice
- .Ensure vertical and horizontal curriculum alignment across all MYP years
- .Support the integration of Key Concepts, Related Concepts, Global Contexts, ATL (Approaches to Learning) Skills, and the IB Learner Profile
- .Monitor curriculum documentation to ensure quality and consistency
.3. Teaching and Learnin
- gMentor, coach, and support teachers through classroom observations, collaborative planning, and professional feedback
- .Promote differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices
- .Ensure authentic, criterion-related assessment practices aligned with IB requirements
- .Monitor teaching quality and student engagement across the programme
.4. Assessment and Reportin
- gOversee the implementation of IB criterion-related assessment
- .Ensure consistency and standardization of assessment practices
- .Guide teachers in moderation and effective feedback strategies
- .Monitor student achievement and analyse academic data to improve learning outcomes
- .Coordinate preparation for MYP eAssessment (where applicable)
.5. Professional Developmen
- tPlan and facilitate ongoing professional learning for MYP staff
- .Identify teacher training needs and recommend appropriate IB workshops
- .Support induction and mentoring of new teachers
- .Promote collaborative planning and professional learning communities
.6. IB Compliance and Programme Evaluatio
- nCoordinate IB authorization, evaluation, and programme review processes
- .Maintain all documentation required by the International Baccalaureate
- .Serve as the primary liaison between the school and the IB Organization
- .Ensure timely submission of IB documentation, reports, and programme requirements
.7. Student Developmen
- tPromote student agency, service as action, and international-mindedness
- .Coordinate and monitor the Personal Project
- .Encourage student leadership opportunities and holistic development
- .Support student wellbeing in collaboration with counsellors and pastoral leaders
.8. Parent and Community Engagemen
- tConduct parent orientation sessions on the MYP philosophy and assessment practices
- .Communicate programme expectations and student progress effectively
- .Organize curriculum evenings, exhibitions, showcases, and community engagement events
- .Build strong partnerships between the school and families
.9. Leadership and Collaboratio
- nWork closely with the Principal and Academic Leadership Team
- .Collaborate with PYP and DP Coordinators to ensure programme continuity
- .Lead MYP team meetings and collaborative planning sessions
- .Support whole-school improvement initiatives and strategic planning
.10. Quality Assuranc
- eMonitor implementation of agreed academic standards
- .Conduct curriculum audits and programme reviews
- .Analyse assessment data to drive school improvement
- .Promote reflective practice and evidence-based decision-making
.Qualification
- sMaster's Degree in Education or a related field (preferred)
- .IB MYP professional development certification
- .Minimum 5 years of IB MYP teaching experience
- .Minimum 2–3 years of leadership or programme coordination experience
- .Strong knowledge of IB MYP philosophy, Programme Standards and Practices, and assessment principles
