Role Overview

The Modular Department Head will be responsible for managing the complete modular production process, workflow, team coordination, quality control, and site execution. The role requires strong knowledge of modular furniture manufacturing, production planning, material handling, installation process, and site coordination.

The person should ensure that all modular work is completed as per approved drawings, timelines, quality standards, and client/site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Modular Production Management

• Handle complete modular production process from drawing handover to final dispatch.
• Plan daily, weekly, and monthly production workflow for the modular department.
• Ensure work is done as per approved drawings, measurements, materials, and finishes.
• Coordinate with design, drawing, purchase, store, production, and site teams.
• Monitor cutting, edge banding, drilling, assembly, hardware fitting, finishing, and packing.
• Ensure proper material planning and minimum wastage.

Workflow & Team Management

• Allocate work to supervisors, machine operators, carpenters, and helpers.
• Track production status and update management regularly.
• Maintain proper work discipline, productivity, and department efficiency.
• Identify production delays and take corrective action on time.
• Train and guide the modular team for better output and quality.

Quality Control

• Check all modular units before dispatch.
• Ensure size, finish, hardware, alignment, and fittings are as per standards.
• Avoid rework by checking quality at every production stage.
• Maintain proper packing standards to avoid damage during transport.

Site Coordination & Installation

• Coordinate with site teams for measurements, delivery, and installation.
• Ensure site work is completed as per drawings and timeline.
• Visit sites whenever required to resolve technical or execution issues.
• Handle installation problems, missing materials, rectifications, and final handover.
• Ensure smooth coordination between factory and site team.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain production reports, material requirement reports, site status, and pending work list.
• Track job cards, drawing revisions, dispatch details, and installation updates.
• Share daily/weekly updates with management.
