About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Zoho Books Expert who can manage, configure, and optimize our Zoho Books accounting system for smooth business operations. The candidate should have strong knowledge of accounting, GST, inventory, purchase, sales, banking, reconciliation, and reporting within Zoho Books.
The role requires someone who can independently handle day-to-day accounting workflows, solve Zoho-related issues, create efficient processes, and support the finance and operations teams with accurate data and reports.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complete accounting operations in Zoho Books.
- Set up and maintain chart of accounts, items, customers, vendors, taxes, branches, warehouses, and users.
- Handle sales invoices, purchase bills, credit notes, debit notes, payments, receipts, and journal entries.
- Manage GST configuration, tax rates, HSN/SAC codes, and GST reports.
- Ensure proper accounting for inventory, stock transfers, purchase returns, sales returns, and adjustments.
- Reconcile bank statements, payment gateways, cash accounts, and vendor/customer ledgers.
- Generate MIS reports, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, GST reports, receivables, payables, and inventory reports.
- Support monthly closing, expense tracking, and audit preparation.
- Identify and fix errors in Zoho Books entries and workflows.
- Coordinate with internal teams for purchase, sales, inventory, store-level accounting, and expense approvals.
- Train team members on correct Zoho Books usage and SOPs.
- Suggest automation and process improvements inside Zoho Books.
- Coordinate with Zoho support or implementation partners whenever required.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Zoho Books.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, invoices, e-way bills, credit notes, debit notes, and financial reporting.
- Experience in bank reconciliation and ledger reconciliation.
- Understanding of inventory-based accounting will be preferred.
- Ability to identify accounting errors and correct them independently.
- Good Excel / Google Sheets knowledge.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work with accounts, operations, and management teams.
Preferred Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in accounting or Zoho Books implementation.
- Experience with retail, FMCG, grocery, food processing, or inventory-heavy businesses will be preferred.
- Experience with multi-location business accounting will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Zoho Inventory, Zoho Expense, or Zoho Payroll will be a plus.
Qualification
- B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance / CA Inter / equivalent accounting qualification.
- Practical Zoho Books experience is more important than degree.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be someone who can not only enter data in Zoho Books but also understand the complete accounting flow of the business. The person should be able to clean up past data, create proper systems, support GST compliance, and make Zoho Books a reliable source for financial decision-making.
Compensation
Salary will be based on experience, Zoho Books expertise, and practical accounting knowledge.
